He ordered heaps of things for me though and I walked out with heaps of papers. But that’s all good. So at least when I come back for the birth of the baby (from W.A to S.A) I can take all the papers into the midwives down there. He wanted me to have an urgent Scan though to see when the baby will be due and to find out the age. Due to other tests that need to be done.

Everyone on my side of the family knows about the baby. But it’s up for Matt to tell his. When he does though I don’t know. I’m hoping this week sometime. I’m already almost ten weeks. But it’s not my position to be telling them. I told all my family. We laughed we cried… wish I could say hugged… but I’ll have to wait for the hug. My dad is ecstatic, he is over the moon and doing summersaults and already planning on coming down for to Adelaide after or when the baby is due and my sister as well… it’s going to be such a great time. Not only to have my family around me but to have my mum dad maybe in the one room… something I have never seen. My grandmother is even staying longer in Adelaide now. But also my cousin is getting married late October, so two big things happening with the both of us. It will be great to have my Nan around though, we are really close, and to share this with her is something really good.

Getting back to it. Yesterday (28^th of May 2008) I had the ultrasound to see how old the baby is. Both Matt and i went on. It was such good timing as Matt had night shift the night before which meant he wasn’t at work that day. We both went in there and I was so scared I didn’t have enough water in me even though I knew I had over a litre.
Matt had a smile on his face the whole time… I was just nervous. All sorts of things going through my mind like… what if the baby didn’t have a heartbeat… what if there was just a sack and no baby. But she got the lube out and put the ultrasound thing on… didn’t have to hold it on there too long, before long we seen the sack and an image of a gorgeous baby. A baby which is growing inside of ME!
She then looked around a little bit longer and took some photos after the baby stopped pretending the sack was a seesaw… it was moving a bit. Then they showed us the heartbeat, then all of a sudden she put the volume of it up… and we could hear it. I swear it was the best sound EVER, hearing our baby’s heartbeat for the first time; I was so euphoric, and still.
And then she said how far along we are, and I’m now 9 weeks and 6 days. Which means the baby is due on the…

Dun dun dun

Which is also Matt’s Birthday. Ha ha ha ha. Great timing ha ha ha lol.

Anyways she gave me a picture. Matt was over the moon and holding it all the time. We went around to some friend’s house and he had to hold it and he had to show her lol. We then took it home and uploaded it on the net.

One of my best friends, Nessa. She is an Intern. So very close to being a full pledged Doctor. I call her Dr Nessa My Online Dr.
She decided to point out what everything on the photo was so I had a much better idea of where the baby was. I already knew most of it. But she drew on it and it looks so much better.

So I will end this with some pictures.

So why on heck do we call it the birds and bees. If the birds and the bees had sex… i feel very sorry for the poor old bird who would most likely die over.
No one actually knows how this saying came along.

some people say it’s got to do with nature ” all nature Seems at work”?
Bees polinate he flowers, and the birds then get all the nutrients from the flowers?
probably flows from the 1928 Cole Porter song, “Let’s Do It.” One well-known part of the lyric goes:

Having said all of that and getting over the big shock. Things have since changed in our lives. It’s not every day you find out you are going to be a parent. Knowing we are going to have a definite commitment to make and a responsibility to take care of, we’ve had to really re evaluate our lives. 9 months goes fast and thinking about it, we now only have 7 months left now. We take care of our selves. We feed ourselves, clean ourselves and make sure each other is living a healthy proper life. As well as pay for the numerous bills you have once you move our of the nest. we don’t even have an animal. (my cat will be coming here soon though ) How are we possibly going to survive? Of course maternal instincts will kick in for the both of us. But is this a normal feeling that mothers to be think. so many differen’t thoughts sweep through my head throughout the day.
I guess that is hormones kicking in. that isn’t the only thing the hormones have been doing though. Hormones have been making me rather nauseous and rather sick at that as well. since finding out we’re pregnant, i have been put in hospital twice. One for bleeding and one for being dehydrated due to getting sick so much. The only thing that is keeping down in my stomach is yoghurt. I can’t even eat meat. Like… how can a 1-2 inch thing be making me this sick. Making me this tired. Making me this crabby. It’s surreal. But it’s happening. and its going to continue to happen for another 7 odd months….

Ok this weeks talk till be based on facebook. not exactly facebook, but on who you can meet on the site.
I got a facebook sometime last year just to see what it was like. But myself being such a myspace queen it was regularly ignored. In which i did the same thing a few years back… being a MSN spaces queen i once thought myspace had sucked as well. I guess those are the loops of life.

However since logging into facebook, it has since become a very popular reunion.
I think this site is truly amazing!!! Of course i have my regular friends on there from high school, as well as other friends I have met since High School and the few friends from high school that i have not heard from since leaving. But i have also found friends from back in the days when I was 6 years old… my old JNR primary school, my primary schools and even my high school (when i left Birdwood and moved interstate for a term).

It’s so exhilarating to see how my friends have changed over the years. I love to look at their pictures and think oh my gosh how much has she changed or wow she hasn’t changed very much at all. Of course some of these people I have not seen since I was 8 years old. some i haven’t seen since I was 12. so it all varies. whether or not I was best friends with them or just friends with them. It’s so good to know everything is going well in their lives.

one of the boys I went to High school with (up in darwin) he was what can i say… a drug user. very nice boy, but was always in alot of trouble and alot of people thought he didn’t have much of a chance out in the big big world. yet he finds me on facebook and i find him to be now  a driver of a green jet down in sydney.
who would have known really.

Facebook is really a reunion place where you can also play games against your friends, send your friends gifts and drinks. a really odd odd place but what I’m finding to be really really good. Trying to find some people though can be mission impossible as some may have moved or not gone to the high school in which you thought they may have gone to, or it’s very well possible that they may not even have a facebook yet, but c’mon Rhi has a facebook which means everyone else should have one by now.

Of course you can also join groups. which i don’t find relevant yet i still join. such groups as – “Torrens Valley Lions (appreciation page)”, “Bring Garth Down Under”. Of course these are the ones I will add, as well as some in which are completely irrelevant – “Vegemite belongs in the cupboard not the fridge “, “ABBY with a Y”, “No, i don’t care if I die at 12AM, i refuse to pass on your chain letter.”. There are also alot of support fan clubs… The Outer army in particular has one, port Adelaide has them, there are even ones to say how much you hate the crows. Of course there are the plain funny ones where you appreciate a guy you know or even a appreciate a guy you know and vote he’s the hottest on facebook. I have not yet found a guy with one of those in which i add.

so i really wonder why alot of my friends have facebook. I know Matt has one simply because he can play games in which he finds as “fun”. I first added mine coz it was apparently cool, and now i have fun trying to find old friends. I guess some people would have one due to an overload of invitations.

So I’m going to go now, to try and find some other people I may know!
